Thirty Months

Months on the wait list:

We are about #33 on the list.

On our thirty month waiting anniversary, we visited the USS Lexington aircraft carrier. We had a great time exploring the massive ship that is now a museum.

Due to the cold weather, there were very few visitors on the ship today. Yep, we had most of the museum to ourselves.

Happy thirty months waiting!!!

Twenty Nine Months

Months on the wait list:

On our twenty nine month waiting anniversary, I worked a little OT (over time) in the morning while Rob went fishing. My younger sister and I decided to take my nephews to a go-kart and miniature golf adventure afterwards.

During the fun day, we received a call from our baby sister telling us she was having a baby...NOW. We quickly went home, packed some clothes, and drove a couple of hours to be with her. We spent the rest of the day at the hospital.

Then, on January 12, our nephew was born! He is the cutest thing ever. We are so blessed to now have the cutest 7 nephews and 3 nieces in the world.

Happy twenty nine months waiting!!!

Twenty Eight Months

Months on the wait list:

On our 28-month waiting anniversary, I went to work and made chicken noodle soup for dinner. Rob spent it on the couch with a cold. However, we decided to celebrate it on Saturday. We got tickets to see the Nutcracker and had dinner and drinks before the show. We now are officially in the Christmas spirit.

Happy 28 months waiting!!!

Twenty Seven Months

My poor, poor blog has been so neglected. We seriously need to pick up where we left off on our monthly activity list and continue to celebrate on the 11th of each month. And wouldn't blogging about it on the same day be nice :P?

Months on the list:

We are about #37 on the big list.

On our twenty seven month waiting anniversary, we ran errands and cleaned the apartment. Yep, boring and boring. Last weekend, we took advantage of Rob's NASCAR ride-along drive and celebrated twenty seven months on the list then. We also hung out with family and ate tons of delicious food.

Happy 27 months waiting!!!

Twenty Five / Twenty Six Months

Hello everyone!! We're baaaack and A-ok. We are physically exhausted though. Let me give you a brief summary of our crazy days since late August.

We thought we wanted to sell the house and met with a realtor. This lead to some tears (from my end) and we decided to rent out the house instead. I was not ready to say goodbye to our first home. We put the house up for rent in August hoping to have someone move in by October. Within hours, we rented the house and tenant wanted to move in in September…WHAT?! Let’s do it!  We cleaned, painted, packed, cleaned, rented a storage, moved, cleaned some more, and moved in with my in-laws. All within a week span while still going to work. Rob started his new job on September 1 and moved in with my sister in Kingsville, TX while I stayed behind with Rob’s parents in San Antonio (3 hours away!!). We made our final move on September 20. We arrived to our apartment at three in the morning that day. Since then, we have been unpacking and settling into our new jobs, home, and town.
All of the stress and hair-pulling days were worth it because so far, we love it!

Moving out of our house.

America's strongest man alive.

Moving out of the storage.

My strong sister-in-law pushing furniture plus yours truly.

We did it!!!

That's a wrap.

On our 25-month waiting anniversary, Rob went to work and ate dinner with my sister and her family 3 hours away from me while I went to work and ate dinner with his parents 3 hours away from him. Yup, we had a whole family-swap going on and we missed each other immensely.

On our 26-month waiting anniversary, we picked up some Ethiopian coffee from Starbucks *gasp and applause and went for a walk on the beach. On our way home stopped at a Blockbuster *gasp and applause and watched a funny movie at home.

Happy 25 and 26 months waiting!!!

We keep getting closer to meeting you
baby boy.

Twenty Four Months

I have some serious catching up to do here. I will start with the latest news: we are moving!

Rob and I have been ready for a change for a while. And by a while I mean A w-h-i-l-e. From the day we got married, we have been talking about moving. Eleven years passed and zip, nada, nothing. Last year we decided we were done with school and the planning began soon after. Should we move up north? Near mountains? Do we want hot or cool weather? Big city or small town? The options were endless for us. Our final decision was to live near the beach. We absolutely love it and visit every chance we get.

We started researching different cities and immediately knew that we didn’t want to move far away from our family. On my birthday weekend, we met a local in Port Aransas, TX that could not stop talking about how much her children loved growing up there and how great the schools were. That sealed the deal and we decided to move near that cute town.

Rob patiently waited for an opportunity and applied for a position within his agency late last month. His employer confirmed two weeks ago that he reports to his new office on September 3. I am staying behind to take care of some last minute packing.

We found a cute apartment 10 miles from the beach and we are hoping to purchase our forever home in the next couple of years. Yes my friends, we get the best of both worlds by moving. We get to live near the beach and we are 2 hours south from Rob’s family and 2 north from my family. We are smack dab in the middle of both :-). And of course, we get to stay in Texas y’all. We are so, so, so excited. Yehaa!

Now, back to business. We have been on the wait list for:

Current longest waiting family has been waiting for (months):
35

We are about #44 on the list and #37 on the single child list.

On our 24 month waiting anniversary, we went apartment hunting. We stopped by the beach afterwards and sat near the water to decide on which place we would call home in a few weeks. That day was beautiful. The sky was bright blue and the weather was perfect. I can already see us in the near future building a sandcastle with our son…every. single. weekend.

Happy 24 months waiting!!!

Twenty Three Months (plus a few days)

Months on the wait list:

We have been incredibly busy this past month. We didn't even get to do an activity from our list but we did do plenty of activities to keep us smiling. Even though we did not post any updates in July, we did, as usual, celebrate our 23 month waiting anniversary :).

This is a brief summary of what we were up to in July.

Ran a 5k dressed as Frida Kahlo.

Celebrated 23 months on the list at BJ's.

Went to a John Mayer concert.

Visited a museum in Houston.

Ate at an Ethiopian restaurant for our 11 year wedding anniversary.

Celebrated my little sister's recent engagement.

Happy 23 months waiting!!!
(We miss you everyday little guy).
