My Poor Old Phone

I am not a big technologically savvy person. I like simple things. I am the person that gets the free phone when renewing their phone contracts by choice. I like a simple phone that will allow me to make phone calls and send texts. These past two weeks my computer has not been working, but guess what? I also broke my phone (I always drop it). We went to buy a new one and rob made me get a smart phone. So my friends, I finally have an iPhone. I know I am 4 years late but in my defense, the white iPhone was released in April. I was waiting for the pretty, girly colored one (wink). I got home after I bought it and rob could not believe I didn’t want to “play” with it. I thought, but it’s just a phone. As I was getting ready to go to sleep and figure out how to set the alarm, I realized I have been missing out! I love it! I can’t stop messing with it and it is by far my new favorite toy. Sorry babe, for being in denial for so long.

C'mon Mr. Mailman...

We got an email from our caseworker today. All that is needed to complete our dossier is the CIS approval letter. The CIS approval letter and that is it. Nothing more. Everyday after work I hurry home to check the mail. As soon as I see my neighborhood, I get butterflies in my stomach from the thought that it might be there waiting for us. As of today, nothing yet :(. So c'mon Mr. Mailman, pretty please deliver our letter soon!

This is me standing in 100 degree weather after a long day at work wondering where our letter is.

9 Year Anniversary

Rob and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary :). The day started off like any other; get up, make coffee, drive to work, but we took the rest of the afternoon off. We went to our appointment at the US Citizen and Immigration Services office at 1 p.m. We then pumped gas and headed out to Austin. Half way there our caseworker Sara called us for our phone meeting (we stopped at a grocery store and had our meeting in the parking lot ;)). We learned some new and interesting things about the process and let me tell you we are excited. I think I cried about two times...not bad, huh? We continued on our trip and made it to our destination: an Ethiopian restaurant. The owners are from Ethiopia and as soon as we walked in, they were kind to us and welcomed us. They were so beautiful. We ordered appetizers, two big entrees, dessert, and coffee. And may I say that it was delicious! The owner was impressed on how clean we left our plates. Loved it! Definitely my new favorite.

Biometrics Appointment

Ever since we started the adoption process I have been hoping for important events to occur on important dates (I am weird like that). I really, truly wanted to be on the waitlist by July 13. As selfish as it may sound I have been praying and asking God for it.

We received our appointment date for our biometrics and...drum roll please...our appointment is on July 13 :). I can't believe it! Thank you so much God for showing us that you listen and the love you have for us. For reminding us that what we are doing is truly the right thing. I know you are making this precious baby just for us. We could not have asked for a better anniversary present!
