Fun Activity #6

Romantic Beach Getaway

Although we would have loved to have gone to Hawaii or the Bahamas for this part of our list, we have to be realistic because we are adopting and preparing for a child my friends! Therefore, we ended up going to Port Aransas, TX. It is a cute island 2.5 hours from our house. We had never visited and absolutely fell in love with it. So you ask me, for this activity did you guys:

1. Go to the beach? Yup
2, Would you consider it a getaway? Absolutely
3. Was it romantic? You bet ya!

We left on Saturday, June 15. We wanted to give camping another shot and camped out that day.

This was our view.

Rob got to fly his brand new penguin kite.

Sunday morning, we headed out to the jetty and did some fishin' and watched some sea turtles swim in the ocean.

We then headed to the cute condo we rented for the next couple of days.
We spent some time by the pool, spent the evening by the beach, showered, ordered a delicious pizza, and ate it on the balcony.

Monday was my big day. Rob woke me up with a tiny cake with princess candles.

We drank coffee on the balcony and went to the pool. We rented a couple of bikes and went bike riding for about 4 hours!

We rode on the beach.

We also decided to check out the town on our bikes.

We rode by the bay and saw some cool boats.

And of course, stopped by a few places to claim my free birthday drink.

We then cooled off by the pool until sunset. Got dressed and had dinner at the restaurant that was highly recommended by all of the friendly locals.

We had a blast! The only thing that would have made the weekend more special is having a little guy help me blow my candles. Maybe next year :)!

Twenty Two Months

Months on the wait list:

On our twenty two month waiting anniversary, we went to work and watched game 3 of the NBA finals. I made home-made chips and guacamole to snack on.

Go Spurs Go!
Happy twenty two months waiting!!!

Fun Activity #5

Late Night R-rated Movie

Yesterday we scratched off one more activity from our list :). The reason this activity made the list is because according to some mommies we will rarely watch a rated R movie at the theater once we have children. If we do, we will go early in the evening to get back home to them. This will avoid having to pay the babysitter extra and have a sleep-deprived morning caring for our kids.

We were home from work around 6 and had to stare at each other for about 4 hours to kill time. We ate dinner, washed dishes, sat on the couch, got up from the couch, stared at each other some more, and finally with sleepy eyes got ready around 10 at night. We never go out past 9 pm ...ever!

Because we did, we realized that:
1. The local restaurant has a nice patio full of colorful lights.
2. Every teenager in town goes out to the movies on Friday nights.
3. How old we are by being mixed in with a crowd full of teens.
4. Tons of people do go out past 9 pm (our bed time).
5. Friday night drivers are much more aggressive than the 7:30 Monday-morning drivers.
6. The theater business is booming.

The ONLY R-rated movie that was showing was *drumroll please The Hangover Part III. Perfect, right? I mean, mommies and daddies do not watch such ridiculous movies :P.

Before our movie, we had a cold beverage. Again, there were so many people it took us a few minutes to get that nice, cold beverage in our hands.

I will admit we yawned a couple of times during the movie but neither one of us fell asleep. Success!

However, I don't recall saying goodnight to Rob due to exhaustion.
