Late Night R-rated Movie
Yesterday we scratched off one more activity from our list :). The reason this activity made the list is because according to some mommies we will rarely watch a rated R movie at the theater once we have children. If we do, we will go early in the evening to get back home to them. This will avoid having to pay the babysitter extra and have a sleep-deprived morning caring for our kids.
We were home from work around 6 and had to stare at each other for about 4 hours to kill time. We ate dinner, washed dishes, sat on the couch, got up from the couch, stared at each other some more, and finally with sleepy eyes got ready around 10 at night. We never go out past 9 pm ...ever!
Because we did, we realized that:
1. The local restaurant has a nice patio full of colorful lights.
2. Every teenager in town goes out to the movies on Friday nights.
3. How old we are by being mixed in with a crowd full of teens.
4. Tons of people do go out past 9 pm (our bed time).
5. Friday night drivers are much more aggressive than the 7:30 Monday-morning drivers.
6. The theater business is booming.
The ONLY R-rated movie that was showing was *drumroll please The Hangover Part III. Perfect, right? I mean, mommies and daddies do not watch such ridiculous movies :P.
Before our movie, we had a cold beverage. Again, there were so many people it took us a few minutes to get that nice, cold beverage in our hands.
I will admit we yawned a couple of times during the movie but neither one of us fell asleep. Success!
However, I don't recall saying goodnight to Rob due to exhaustion.
Ha Ha, this one really made me laugh! Whatever mom gave you that advice was spot on. We used to go see movies all the time in our early years, but now since having our first baby 12 years ago, I can count on probably 3 fingers, the number of times we've seen a non-kid movie! So glad you are doing these fun things !!!
ReplyDeleteKeep it up.
